A castle-to-Bandstand procession and community activities across Aberystwyth, organised in 2026 by Project LUNA.
2026 event — 2027 date to be confirmed
Aberystwyth Pride combines a coastal-town procession with activities in several local venues. Project LUNA organised the 2026 day, bringing its work supporting trans inclusion into a wider community celebration. Pride has roots in protest against discrimination and the continuing struggle for equal rights.
The event took place on Saturday 25 April 2026. The Cambrian News report published on 30 April described the march, workshops, market and evening entertainment. Project LUNA’s Pride page also invites attendee feedback and publishes accounts of the parade and market.
This was one identifiable Pride day across several settings, rather than a park festival behind a single gate. Plan around the activities you most want to attend. A town-centre base helps with the procession and seafront; a visit to the National Library needs a separate onward journey.
The 2026 date was 25 April. The Cambrian News programme preview identified activities at the White Horse, Bandstand, GamePark, National Library, North Beach, Harleys and Castle Hotel. There was no single opening time applying to every venue.
The 2027 date is to be confirmed. No official date was found on the organiser’s homepage, Pride page or accessible social updates when checked. The Pride page’s countdown displayed zeros without a usable future date. A countdown alone is therefore not a basis for booking.
For the next visit, save the organiser’s programme and venue addresses before leaving home. Decide where you will meet friends if you attend different activities. Keep the historical date separate from the next edition’s plans, and choose changeable bookings while the new day remains unpublished.
The organiser’s programme image, reproduced in the Cambrian News preview, gave the parade an 11am–12pm slot from the Castle Grounds. The newspaper’s subsequent report confirmed that the procession went from the castle grounds to the Bandstand along Great Darkgate Street.
A separate 15 April road-closure article said marchers would meet from 11am and set off at “12am”, which can only mean noon. The road restrictions were expected from 11.45am to 12.45pm, which fits a noon departure.
The Welsh Government’s published order covered parts of Bridge Street, Great Darkgate Street and Owain Glyndwr Square. Its public notice expected restrictions from 11.45am to 12.45pm on 25 April. Those closure boundaries establish the traffic arrangements, rather than every turn of the procession.
Great Darkgate Street was a confirmed viewing stretch; the Bandstand suited meeting people at the finish. These are route-based suggestions, not reserved viewing areas. Leave entrances and dropped kerbs clear. Ask Project LUNA about the next group-registration process before arranging an organisation’s banner.
The 2026 preview listed coffee and craft at the White Horse from 10am, a Bandstand queer market from 10.30am to 4pm, and an art trail on Terrace Road. It also advertised a Beyblades tournament, an afternoon Queer Assembly and a zine-making workshop.
Evening choices included a drag show at Harleys from 7pm, followed by Bass Goes Purr from 10pm to 3am. A poetry open mic at the Castle Hotel offered another 7pm option. These were 2026 listings, not confirmed appearances or hours for the next edition.
The inspected sources did not establish a complete admission-price schedule or age rules for every activity. Check each venue’s own booking information before deciding that a daytime activity or evening party is free. Buying something at a market and entering a separate late venue are different decisions.
Pick a manageable sequence rather than treating the programme as a checklist. Leave time to eat between activities and build in a break before the evening. If visiting with children, check the particular venue’s terms instead of applying the parade’s community character to a late party.
National Rail lists Aberystwyth station on Alexandra Road, managed by Transport for Wales. Set the station as your rail destination, then map the actual venue you want. The Castle Grounds, Bandstand and National Library are separate destinations; this guide does not assume a walking time between them.
Check the current rail journey planner for your origin, changes and final return service. For buses, use the operator’s timetable for the particular stop and day. Save your return details before entering a busy venue rather than depending on reception or a nearly empty battery.
The 2026 trunk-road closure notice diverted traffic via Mill Street and Alexandra Road, then Terrace Road towards North Parade. It was a dated procession arrangement. Check new council and operator notices before driving, and read the restrictions at your chosen parking space.
The historical late party ended at 3am. Do not assume a train or bus would follow that finish. An overnight room or an earlier departure may suit better. Make the last connection your planning constraint, with enough margin to leave the venue and reach the station.
Two seafront hotels suit the Bandstand activities, with a central alternative for budget comparison. The current Gwesty Cymru, Marine and Four Seasons operator pages confirm these names and locations. Compare cancellation terms and ask directly about your room’s entrance and bathroom.

National Rail explicitly gives Aberystwyth station step-free category A, with access to all platforms. It also lists staff help as available. Arrange Passenger Assist around your journey and check live disruption notices. Ask the operator about the facilities you need before travelling.
The opened event material did not establish dedicated accessible viewing, BSL interpretation, a mapped quiet space or Changing Places provision. Because activities used different venues, ask about the particular entrance, toilet and space you need, rather than assuming one access arrangement covered the day.
Use Project LUNA’s contact form for event questions. Explain which activity you want and whether standing, crowds or moving between venues is difficult. A shorter visit focused on one setting may be easier than joining the march and travelling to every subsequent activity.
The 2027 date has not been announced yet. The 2026 event was on 25 April. We will update this guide when the organiser confirms the next date.
Yes. The Cambrian News published a retrospective on 30 April confirming the 25 April celebration. Project LUNA also publishes attendee feedback.
The Cambrian News road-closure article gave Castle Grounds assembly from 11am and a noon departure. The post-event report confirmed a Bandstand finish via Great Darkgate Street.
No. The 2026 day used several local venues. Choose activities individually and plan the onward journey, especially for the National Library and evening entertainment.
Check the actual return timetable first. The 2026 late party was advertised until 3am; that did not establish transport at that hour.
