off to pride

Make a weekend of it

Stay close to the Gay Village.

Six hotels near the parade and Hurst Street, three budget options and nearby rail bases.

2026 event — 2027 date announced: 28–30 May 2027

Choose your Birmingham base

The parade and the festival are both in the city centre, so most visitors walk between them. These six hotels are within walking distance of the parade route, the Gay Village or both. Southside, around Hurst Street, is closest to the festival but can be noisy late at night. Colmore Row and Victoria Square suit people who want to see the parade start.

Overflow bases: Wolverhampton, Solihull and Coventry

These places can widen your search, but compare the whole trip, not just the room price. The times below are typical daytime station-to-station estimates, not a Pride timetable or a promise of a late train. Add the walk to each station, waiting time and the walk to Hurst Street.

Wolverhampton → Birmingham New Street
About 16–26 minutes
Solihull → Birmingham Moor Street
About 8–13 minutes
Coventry → Birmingham New Street
About 20–28 minutes

Wolverhampton has frequent direct trains to New Street and the Metro tram to central Birmingham. In 2026, a strike on West Midlands Railway and London Northwestern on the parade day cut West Midlands Railway’s Wolverhampton–Walsall service via New Street to one train an hour. Avanti West Coast and CrossCountry trains between Wolverhampton and New Street were not part of that strike. Always check the late return for your exact date.

Solihull is served by Chiltern trains into Moor Street, which is right beside the Bullring end of the parade route. It is a quieter base for families. Check the last train back and the walk from Solihull station to your room.

Coventry has fast Avanti West Coast and CrossCountry trains to New Street. It has plenty of hotels and its own city-centre nightlife. A short daytime journey says little about late-night trains, so plan your return before the evening.

Use National Rail to plan the whole return journey, and check Transport for West Midlands for strikes, closures and tram changes.

Before you book

  • Confirm the 2027 dates, 28–30 May 2027, before making a non-refundable booking.
  • Check check-in times, luggage storage and cancellation terms.
  • Ask about access using the exact room and entrance you will use.
  • Ask the hotel how to reach it while parade and festival roads are closed.
  • Plan the late journey and save the hotel address offline.
