About Chesterfield Pride

Chesterfield Pride is a one-day LGBTQ+ festival in Stand Road Park, on the Whittington Moor side of town. The organiser calls it Derbyshire’s premier LGBTQ+ celebration and says it has run since 2015. The 2026 edition marked its 11th year.

Expect a park day rather than a city march. In 2026 there were two stages. The organiser describes it as open to everyone, and its 2027 terms let under-16s in free with an adult.

Pride began as protest, and every Pride still carries that history of visibility and the fight for equal rights. Chesterfield’s version keeps the focus on community, with a smaller-town feel than the big city festivals.

When and where

Chesterfield Pride 2026 took place on Saturday 13 June 2026 at Stand Road Park. Destination Chesterfield gives the park’s postcode as S41 8SW.

Published 2026 hours differ slightly between sources. A February 2026 Derbyshire Times report said the event ran from 1pm until 7pm. A March report said gates opened at 1pm, with VIP entry from 12pm. We could not find an official 2026 finish time on the organiser’s site, which has now moved on to 2027.

The organiser has announced Chesterfield Pride 2027 for Saturday 12 June 2027, again at Stand Road Park. Its ticket listing gives 1pm to 8pm, with last entry at 6.30pm. Treat those times as the current plan and check again nearer the day.

Is there a Chesterfield Pride parade?

We found no parade or march for Chesterfield Pride in 2026. The organiser’s site, its ticket listing and local news coverage all describe a ticketed festival in the park, with no assembly point or route. If you want to march, look at a city Pride with a procession, or ask the organiser whether anything is planned for 2027.

The festival itself is the main event, so plan your day around the stage times rather than a street route.

Chesterfield Pride tickets, prices and what’s on

Chesterfield Pride is a ticketed event. In 2026, standard entry was £12, according to the Derbyshire Times. The same report listed a Wildes VIP pass at £32 for adults and £6 for children, and a Wildes Platinum VIP pass at £68.

For 2027, the organiser lists early bird standard tickets at £6, advance general entry at £12 and pay on the day at £15. Destination Chesterfield lists a Wildes VIP early bird at £27, the Platinum VIP pass at £70 and a child VIP ticket at £5. The Skiddle listing says tickets are non-refundable and VIP passes are limited.

The 2026 line-up was headed by Una Healy of The Saturdays, with Betty Boo also billed. The Main Stage carried pop and tribute acts. The Cabaret Stage mixed drag, comedy and unsigned talent.

Under-16s get in free but must be with an adult. The Skiddle listing warns that some performances are adult in nature, so parental guidance is advised. The organiser’s rules allow food, sealed soft drinks, picnics and camping chairs. Alcohol, open bottles, glass, barbecues, fireworks and dogs are not allowed, except working assistance dogs.

Chesterfield Pride travel and road closures

Chesterfield station is on Corporation Street. The organiser says Stand Road Park is about a 15-minute walk from the station. East Midlands Railway manages the station, which has a staffed ticket office and a large car park.

By bus, the organiser lists services 50a, 25, 43, 50, 44 and 15 from the town centre to Stand Road. It puts the journey at about 10 minutes. Check the operator’s timetable for Saturday frequencies and your return bus.

We found no published 2026 road closures or event car park. The station car park is run by East Midlands Railway and charges by ANPR. Check any local parking restrictions before driving, as none were published for the event.

We could not find any extra late trains for Pride. Work back from your last train or connection, allowing time to leave the park and walk to the station. Save the journey before you go, as plans can change with engineering work.

Where to stay

Chesterfield is compact, so most central rooms are a short bus or taxi ride from Stand Road Park. Lockoford Lane sits between the town centre and Whittington Moor. A town-centre base keeps restaurants, buses and the station close. Check cancellation terms before you book.

Accessibility

We could not find published details of accessible viewing, accessible toilets, a Changing Places toilet, BSL interpretation or a quiet space for Chesterfield Pride. Stand Road Park is an outdoor recreation ground, so ask about surfaces and routes if you use a wheelchair. The organiser’s rules allow camping chairs, which may help if standing is difficult.

Chesterfield station is step-free, with a subway and lift to the platforms, according to East Midlands Railway. Accessible toilets are on Platform 1, and Passenger Assist can be booked in advance. Working assistance dogs are allowed into the festival.
