2026 event — 2027 date to be confirmed
Derby Pride is a community-led LGBT+ celebration at Markeaton Park. The organiser’s 2026 programme combined stage entertainment, local stalls and family activities in a park setting. It offered an alternative to a city-centre street party, with room to plan a visit around music and community organisations.
According to Derby Pride’s own history, volunteers organised the first event in September 2014. The group became a registered charity in 2019 and continues to be run by volunteers from the local LGBT+ community. Smaller fundraising events support the annual celebration.
Pride grew from protest against discrimination and the struggle for equal rights. A local festival also gives people a chance to meet support organisations, find community and show solidarity. You can visit with friends or make a shorter first visit on your own.
Derby Pride 2026 was scheduled for Saturday 12 September at Markeaton Park, Markeaton Lane, Derby DE22 4AA. The organiser’s dated event listing published festival hours of noon to 6pm. These are the advertised arrangements for 2026; no reliable report from after the event was found during this check.
The 2027 date is TBC. The official website had not published a dated 2027 announcement when checked on 13 October 2026. Its usual September pattern is not a confirmed date. Wait for the organiser’s announcement before committing to accommodation that cannot be cancelled.
Save the park location and agree a meeting point before travelling. Markeaton Park and Pride Park football stadium are different places. Check the destination carefully when booking a taxi or choosing a hotel.
A 2026 parade assembly, departure time, route and finish could not be confirmed on the organiser’s pages. That does not establish that no parade was planned. This guide therefore uses the published park festival as the firm planning reference rather than giving an unsupported march timetable.
Ask the organiser about a future parade before arranging to join with a workplace, charity or community group. No participation fee, group-size rule or registration deadline was established from the official information. Do not assume festival admission registers your group for a procession.
For watching or meeting friends, choose a clearly identifiable point that keeps entrances and paths clear. If a new march is announced, check its route and any viewing arrangements separately from the festival programme.
The official 2026 announcement advertised £5 admission on the day, or £3.50 in advance, with under-16s free. The dated booking page showed an additional £0.09 ticket service fee. Those historical prices are not a promise for the next edition.
The advertised programme included a main stage, an alternative performance tent, local business and charity stalls, a funfair, an Aspire Wrestling display, food vendors and licensed bars. Gareth Gates was the announced headline act, with Soraya Vivian as host. The organiser described the event as family friendly and open to all.
Budget separately for food, drinks and any rides you choose. Take weather protection and plan a break before everyone becomes tired. Families should check the next edition’s admission terms together, including any new arrangements for younger visitors.
Use Derby station for a rail arrival, then plan the onward journey to Markeaton Park. The park is outside the station area; allow for that second leg rather than treating the train arrival as your festival arrival. Check your walking route or arrange a bus or taxi before setting off.
Trentbarton’s allestree service connects Corporation Street in central Derby with Kedleston Road University and Allestree. Compare its stop map with the park entrance you need. Use the operator’s journey planner for your date and check return stops as well as outward ones.
The council’s park information confirms a car park with ramped access. Check current parking information and any event notice before driving. Ordinary park parking does not guarantee an available space at a busy festival, and no special Pride shuttle was confirmed.
Check the last suitable train and all onward connections before the day. Leave time to get out of the park and back to the station. A hotel near the station can simplify an early departure, but still needs a transfer to the festival.
The first two hotels offer local bases on the park side of Derby’s central area, with different lengths of onward walk. The third is a budget option by the railway station. Compare walking routes, cancellation terms and the total cost of any transfers; the budget label does not guarantee the lowest available rate.

The council describes Markeaton Park as having level paths suitable for wheelchair users, ramped car-park access and wheelchair access to the Craft Village and Orangery Café. Its Changing Places list includes Markeaton Park. Ask about the facility’s location and access arrangements before travelling.
Park facilities do not establish the festival’s temporary arrangements. Accessible viewing, event toilets, BSL, a quiet space and any companion-ticket policy remain unconfirmed. Send specific access questions to the organiser’s published general contact, info@derbypride.co.uk.
East Midlands Railway classifies Derby as a category A step-free station, with lifts to all platforms. Use its Derby station information and arrange assistance if needed. Discuss the onward park journey too: station assistance does not include the whole route to the festival entrance.
