About Doncaster Pride

Doncaster Pride combines a city-centre Parade of Unity with a ticketed outdoor festival on Town Field. The registered charity supports the local LGBTQ+ community throughout the year. Its annual celebration brings together entertainment, families, community organisations and visitors arriving by rail.

Pride grew from protest against discrimination and the demand for equal rights. Taking part in the procession is one way to make that public solidarity visible, even if you do not attend the festival.

The 2026 celebration went ahead: the organiser’s subsequent round-up thanked everyone who filled Town Field and bought tickets. Think of this as a park day with an evening programme, rather than a short city-centre street party. Plan your footwear, refreshments and journey home together.

When and where

The 2026 event took place on Saturday 8 August at Town Field, east of the city centre. The organiser’s event page listed the site opening at 11am. Its stage schedule gave noon to 7pm for the Community Stage and 12.30pm to 9.30pm for the Main Stage.

Town Field has entrances from Town Moor Avenue, Thorne Road and Bennetthorpe. The festival occupied the middle field, so reaching the park boundary was not the same as reaching the entry gate.

The organiser has discussed improving Doncaster Pride in 2027, but has not published its date. The 2027 date, tickets and site arrangements are TBC. Wait for the official announcement before making a non-refundable booking.

Doncaster Pride parade route and start time

The organiser’s 2026 parade page gave an 11.15am departure from Duke Street, followed by St Sepulchre Gate, High Street, Hall Gate, South Parade and Bennetthorpe. Walkers turned left by Prosec into Town Field; vehicles continued towards Roman Road to disperse.

The same page gave conflicting assembly instructions: 10.30am at Duke Street in its route description, but 10.15am at St Sepulchre Gate for individuals. Another official event page printed 11.15pm, against the parade page’s morning time. Ask the organiser for the next edition’s joining instructions.

For 2026, sponsors, businesses, other organisations, vehicles and groups of ten or more had to register. The published contribution was £25 plus VAT, with registrations due by Sunday 26 July 2026. These were historical terms, not a 2027 application offer.

High Street and Hall Gate were central places to watch along the published route. Choose a position where you can keep shop entrances and dropped kerbs clear. Leave time afterwards to walk to the park rather than following the crowd immediately into a bottleneck.

Doncaster Pride tickets, prices and what’s on

The 2026 festival required tickets. Visit Doncaster, the council’s tourism service, advertised prices from £8. The organiser directed purchases to Skiddle. Its standard ticket covered entertainment outside the separate VIP space.

The official programme included drag, tribute acts, local performers and Queens of the West End. The Cabaret Tent was labelled 18+ and started from 5pm. Families had their own activities, alongside a market, food outlets and bars.

Children aged 13 and under entered free but still needed tickets and an accompanying adult aged at least 18. The organiser allowed food and one sealed 500ml plastic bottle of water or soft drink per person. Bringing alcohol or glass was prohibited. Re-entry required a hand stamp.

For a future visit, read the new ticket conditions before packing. Set aside a food budget and decide whether everyone wants to stay for the late programme. A group meeting point away from the stage makes reconnecting easier.

Doncaster Pride travel and getting there

Doncaster railway station connects with the Interchange bus station. The organiser estimated a 25-minute walk from the Interchange to the Bennetthorpe park entrance in 2026. Allow additional time for the festival gate and security.

The published 2026 travel guidance named buses stopping at Thorne Road/Kings Road and Bennetthorpe. Routes included 365 and 384 on the Thorne Road side, and 355, 356 and 357 on Bennetthorpe. Check current services before travelling; the historical list is not a 2027 timetable.

General event parking in 2026 was at Racecourse Car Park C off Leger Way, with a walk towards Town Moor Avenue. The organiser prohibited parking in surrounding residential streets. Its pages gave different racecourse postcodes, so use the named car park and entrance rather than an unconfirmed postcode.

Check the last train and any onward connection before choosing your departure time. Leave a margin to cross the park, find your bus or walk to the station. The final Main Stage performance does not guarantee a train home.

Accessibility

The organiser’s 2026 access page listed Main Stage BSL interpretation, a raised viewing platform and a dedicated viewing area at the City Stage. Accessible toilet cubicles and an attended Accessoloo provided a hoist, changing and showering facilities.

Blue Badge parking was inside the site, reached through the Bennetthorpe entrance beside Town Field Sports Club. The organiser required the badge to be displayed. The park is grass, so ask about ground conditions and your route to viewing areas.

The 2026 FAQ said there were no carer or companion concessions. A dedicated quiet space was not confirmed. Doncaster station has step-free access to all platforms and lifts, according to National Rail. For access questions, the organiser’s Disability and Pride page gives info@doncasterpride.co.uk and 01302 590830.
