off to pride

Make a weekend of it

Choose your Dundee base.

Waterfront and city walk bases, three budget comparisons and rail-connected overflow areas.

2026 event — 2027 date to be confirmed

Choose your Dundee base

Dundee Pride’s 2026 village used Slessor Gardens, with a city-centre march beginning at Steeple Church. A waterfront room can simplify railway arrival and returning from the festival. A city-centre base can also suit the historical assembly. Match the hotel to both destinations if you intend to march, rather than treating the village entrance as the start of every visit.

Affiliate disclosure: hotel links below go to Booking.com through CJ. Off to Pride may earn a commission if you book through them, at no extra cost to you.

The organiser says Pride is returning in 2027, but the date remains to be confirmed. These properties are a location shortlist, not a promise of future availability or low room prices. Compare refundable terms while waiting for the date. Read the exact room description and contact the property about access needs before relying on a general booking filter.

Six hotels near the march or waterfront

These six are city hotels within walking reach of the historical Pride locations. The closest station-side and dockside choices suit village arrival; Nethergate and Argyllgait can help with assembly. Constable Street adds a longer approach. Map the actual entrance and pavement route for your own pace, particularly if you will return to the room during the day.

Malmaison Dundee is on Whitehall Crescent, between city streets and the waterfront. Apex’s address is West Victoria Dock Road, east of the gardens. They offer different approaches to the village, even though both suit a waterfront stay. Compare room categories and the exact walking route instead of deciding solely from a river-view photograph.

The Queens Hotel’s address is Nethergate, not Perth Road. Hotel Indigo uses Lower Dens Mill on Constable Street. That eastern location can suit a broader city visit, but it is a longer walk than a room near South Union Street. Keep the hotel address beside your route plan so an attractive central description does not hide an unsuitable transfer.

Hampton’s Argyllgait location and Holiday Inn Express on Dock Street put different parts of the city within reach. Compare your intended assembly, arrival and evening meal as one journey. A breakfast inclusion can help the total cost, but check the particular room offer. Do not assume every hotel has its own parking or that an accessible room is automatically available.

Three budget options

Budget here means options worth comparing for value, rather than guaranteed cheap rooms. The first two are central; the Camperdown property needs a transfer. Include transport, meals and room type in the comparison. A private room and a hostel bed are different products, so check the number of guests and bathroom arrangement before choosing.

Four Points Flex by Sheraton Dundee is the current listing at the station, formerly known as Sleeperz. Use the current name and South Union Street address when comparing results. Being above the railway station can make luggage arrival easier, but check the hotel entrance and lift arrangements separately from the station’s platform access.

Dundee Backpackers Hostel is on the High Street. Its local visitor listing describes both dormitories and private rooms. Read which category you are booking, whether the bathroom is shared, and how you will manage luggage and stairs. A central hostel can reduce travel costs without providing the same facilities as a full-service hotel.

go2 Dundee Camperdown Hotel is the current operator name; older material calls it ibis budget Dundee Camperdown. The retained Booking.com URL still uses the old brand in its address. This is an outer hotel near Kingsway West, not a waterfront walking base. Check the complete bus journey or taxi cost before choosing it for a late evening.

Overflow areas

Broughty Ferry: typical trains take around 8–10 minutes to Dundee. ScotRail’s published regional timetable includes short direct journeys. Add travel from your accommodation to Broughty Ferry station and from Dundee station to Pride. Check which services stop at the smaller station and the final return, rather than assuming every Aberdeen-line train calls there.

Perth: direct rail examples take around 20–30 minutes. The published timetable includes services with different stopping patterns. A Perth stay can widen the accommodation choice, but the station-to-hotel journey is extra. Check the last suitable connection after your evening plans and allow time to change where your selected service requires it.

Arbroath: normal rail examples take around 20–30 minutes. Stopping patterns vary, so compare the actual journey rather than the fastest headline time. The town can suit a longer coast-and-city trip, but an early return may fit better than a late night in Dundee. Save an earlier train as a fallback.

These are ordinary station-to-station examples from the opened operator timetable, not a 2027 Pride timetable or announced extra services. A short daytime journey does not promise a frequent evening return. Compare the full cost for your party and the effect on rest time. A central Dundee room may be better value when several transfers would otherwise be needed.

Before you book

Wait for the exact event date, then compare cancellation deadlines, deposits and minimum stays. Read the property address and room category carefully. Check luggage storage if you arrive before the room is ready, and ask about a return during the day if resting matters. Retain your confirmation and arrival instructions offline.

For an accessible room, confirm the entrance, lift dimensions, bed space and bathroom with the property. Check the pedestrian journey to assembly and the village as well. The most useful accommodation is the one that supports the whole visit, including food, a break and getting home.
