A free, charity-run street party in Little Chelsea, a short walk from Eastbourne station.
2026 event — 2027 date to be confirmed
Eastbourne Pride is a free, volunteer-led celebration run by a local registered charity of the same name. In 2026 it moved to a new home in Little Chelsea, the town’s independent shopping quarter around Grove Road and South Street. The day took the form of a street party, with live music, a street market and local businesses joining in.
The trustees said the move had “placed Pride at the centre of Eastbourne life”. It is a community event rather than a big-ticket festival, and it suits a relaxed seaside day out. Pride itself grew out of protest and the fight for equal rights, and visibility on the town’s own streets is still part of the point.
The charity also runs events beyond the summer day. It has announced a Winter Pride at the Winter Gardens in January 2027 and has linked a World AIDS Day event with the UK AIDS Memorial Quilt.
Eastbourne Pride 2026 took place on Saturday 13 June 2026. Local news coverage before and after the event gave that date, and the Visit Brighton listing matched it. The street party ran across Grove Road and South Street in Little Chelsea, postcode BN21 4XB. Visit Eastbourne listed live music on the main stage from midday until 7pm.
At 7pm the organisers handed over to local venues, which carried the celebrations on into the evening. One national listing gave 18 July 2026 instead, but the organiser’s announcements and local reporting point firmly to 13 June. Earlier editions used different dates and sites, so do not rely on older listings.
No date has been announced for the summer event in 2027. The organiser’s parade page says applications for the 2027 parade will open in early 2027. Check the organiser’s website and social channels before booking anything you cannot cancel.
The full parade was paused in 2026, and the coverage we found did not give a reason. In its place, Stix Drummers led what local reporters called a “small but spirited procession”. Eastbourne Scouts and local volunteers carried a 40ft Pride flag.
We could not find a published assembly point, start time or route for that procession. Older listings describing earlier routes do not reflect 2026. If you want to march at a future edition, watch for the 2027 application window on the organiser’s parade page.
Without a confirmed route, the safest plan is to base yourself in Little Chelsea itself. Grove Road and South Street were the heart of the 2026 day. Keep doorways and dropped kerbs clear if a procession does come through.
Entry to the 2026 street party was free, and the organiser described its printed programme as free too. There was no ticket to buy and no general admission charge. Food, drink and anything bought from the street market cost extra.
The 2026 main-stage line-up ran from midday, with local performers and LGBTQ+ artists. Acts included Ian Farrell, Jade Power, Bibi Millett and Brandon Hunt, with Tayris Mongardi closing at 6.15pm. Local businesses offered Pride-themed activities and goods. The organisers described both family-friendly venues and adult-focused spaces across the area.
We found no published age rules for the street itself. Individual bars and venues apply their own rules, especially after 7pm. Bring photographic identification if you plan to buy alcohol.
Eastbourne station is the nearest station, and Little Chelsea is a short walk from it. Southern operates the station, which has step-free access to all platforms. Check your own journey with National Rail before you travel, as weekend engineering works can affect the coast lines.
Brighton & Hove Buses route 12 links Brighton with Eastbourne along the coast. Its Eastbourne stops include Cornfield Road and Gildredge Road in the town centre. Check the Saturday timetable on the operator’s website, as the online summary does not label which days it covers.
The station has a car park with 349 spaces, including ten accessible bays. We found no published 2026 road-closure order for Grove Road or South Street. Allow for the street party area being crowded or closed to traffic on the day. For the journey home, check your last train or bus before the evening venue programme starts.
Eastbourne has plenty of seafront hotels within walking distance of Little Chelsea. A room on King Edward’s Parade puts you close to both the street party and the promenade. Book early for a June weekend, when the town is busy with visitors.

Little Chelsea is a compact area of streets close to the station, so the walk in is short. We found no published accessible viewing area, BSL interpretation or quiet space for the 2026 street party. If you need any of these, ask the organiser before the day and keep the reply in writing.
Eastbourne station has step-free access to all platforms, accessible toilets and a Changing Places toilet. Staff help is listed as available throughout the day, with Passenger Assistance meeting points and a helpline. The station car park includes ten accessible spaces.
The organiser lists a telephone number, (01323) 354526, and a contact form on its website. Its parade page also gives the address info@eastbourne-pride.com. Expect busy, narrow streets around the main stage in the afternoon. Plan breaks away from the crowds if you need them.
The 2027 date has not been announced yet. The 2026 event was on 13 June. We will update this guide when the organiser confirms the next date.
