off to pride

Make a weekend of it

Stay close to Lower Briggate.

Central Leeds is compact, so a hotel near Lower Briggate or the station puts the parade, the festival and your train all within walking distance.

2026 event — 2027 date announced: 17–18 July 2027

Choose your Leeds base

Leeds Pride happens in a compact city centre. Lower Briggate, the parade route and Leeds station are all close together, so a central hotel lets you walk almost everywhere. These six hotels are near Lower Briggate, the Freedom Quarter or the station. This is a location shortlist: walking suitability depends on your mobility, the festival gate you use and the road closures in place.

Room rates change with dates, availability and cancellation terms. No fixed Pride room price is quoted. Check the exact property, room, guest count and total payable before booking; contact the hotel directly about specific access needs.

Overflow areas: Wakefield, York and Harrogate

If central Leeds is full or expensive, these places are well connected by rail. The times below are typical daytime station-to-station journeys, not a Pride timetable or a promise of a late train. Add the walk from Leeds station to Lower Briggate, waiting time and the journey to your room.

Wakefield Westgate → Leeds
About 13–20 minutes
York → Leeds
About 25–45 minutes
Harrogate → Leeds
About 30–35 minutes

Wakefield is the closest of the three, with frequent direct trains from Wakefield Westgate. It is a practical choice if you want a shorter late journey. Check whether your hotel is nearer Westgate or Kirkgate station.

York has a large choice of hotels and many trains to Leeds, but journey times vary widely by service. Pick a fast direct train and confirm the last Sunday departure before staying late.

Harrogate is a quieter base on the Harrogate line. Trains run less often than from Wakefield or York, and the last train from Leeds is earlier. Plan your return before the evening starts.

Use National Rail or Northern to check the full return journey for your date.

Before you book

  • Confirm the 2027 dates, 17–18 July, before making a non-refundable reservation.
  • Ask hotels on or near Lower Briggate how to reach the entrance during closures.
  • Check check-in time, luggage storage and cancellation terms.
  • Ask about access using the exact room and entrance you will use.
  • Expect noise near the festival site until late on both nights.
  • Plan your late journey and save the address offline.
