2026 event — 2027 date to be confirmed
Northampton Pride brings LGBTQ+ people and allies together in the town centre through a parade, performances and community stalls. The official council event page identifies the Northampton Pride Committee as its organiser, supported by volunteers and local partners. Pride’s celebrations grew from protest against discrimination and campaigning for equal rights.
The 2026 edition took place in the Market Square. BBC reporter Laura Coffey’s report, published by AOL on 14 July 2026, confirmed the event had happened. It described live performances, community stalls and activities, making this a confirmed celebration rather than an unfulfilled calendar listing.
The same report said West Northamptonshire Council gave no funding in 2026. Its Reform UK leader, Mark Arnull, said the council would no longer contribute to Pride in any way, including officers’ time. The council page and contact used below may therefore not cover future editions.
For a first visit, decide whether your priority is the parade, performances or conversations at community stalls. A town-centre event can work well as a day trip. Agree where to meet friends and leave space for a meal or a break.
Northampton Pride took place on Saturday 11 July 2026 at Northampton Market Square. The official 2026 running order listed stage activity from midday, with closing words at 3.55pm.
Published timings differed: Northants Life’s listing advertised 11am–6pm, while the council’s stage schedule ended earlier. These describe different published schedules; they do not establish that every activity continued until 6pm. For a future visit, rely on the new programme for the part you want to attend.
No official 2027 date was found when checked on 13 October 2026. The next edition is TBC. Wait for the organiser’s announcement before making a non-refundable travel booking.
The council’s 2026 event information described a smaller procession around the Market Square at about noon. Community groups were to lead it, with visitors invited to gather in front of the main stage afterwards. The page did not publish a separate assembly time or a street-by-street route beyond the square.
For watching, choose a position that leaves entrances and pedestrian movement clear. Ask stewards where to stand if you need a view without joining the procession. Do not use an older town-centre route to plan a later edition: the 2026 information specifically described a circuit around the square.
If you want to bring an organised group, ask the committee for that year’s participation arrangements. The published sponsorship deadline is not evidence of a parade registration deadline.
Northants Life described the 2026 celebration as free. The council’s programme announcement promoted activities for all ages, including an emergency-services area, face painting and community stalls. St John Ambulance was named as the first-aid provider.
The announced stage programme included That Joe Payne, TEENA, Miss Cara-mel Latte and Late Night Talking, a Harry Styles tribute. Theatre Front of House and Northampton Musical Theatre Company also appeared in the published line-up. These are 2026 programme details, not a promise of the next performers.
The official event page recorded a Friday 8 May 2026 deadline for sponsorship applications. That date has passed. Future stall or sponsorship arrangements depend on who organises the next edition.
Free entry does not cover food, drinks or purchases. Set a spending limit, check dietary needs with individual vendors and arrange a comfortable break before returning to the stage.
National Rail places Northampton station on Black Lion Hill and identifies London Northwestern Railway as its manager. Use Market Square as your onward destination. Check a route that suits your walking needs instead of relying on an unsupported fixed journey time.
The town-centre visitor site links to travel and parking information. Check local bus timetables and stop changes for the date you choose. If driving, select a public car park before setting off and confirm its closing time and pedestrian exit.
A future Pride closure plan was not available. Keep enough flexibility for diversions and do not assume the square itself is a parking or drop-off point. Ask your accommodation about unloading if you are bringing luggage.
Plan the return journey before arriving, including any connection beyond Northampton. A stage finish is not your train departure time. Allow a margin for getting back to the station, finding the platform and changing plans if a service is disrupted.
These are two central hotel bases and one budget option. Compare the full room price, cancellation terms and any parking costs. Budget means an option to compare, not a guaranteed lowest rate. Check the precise room facilities with the property if accessibility matters.

National Rail classifies Northampton station as step-free category A, with access to all platforms and lifts. Arrange rail assistance separately where needed, and check lift status before travelling. This station description does not establish a fully step-free route across the town centre.
For 2026, the access contact was on the council’s Pride page; after the council’s withdrawal, check who is organising the next edition before asking. Ask specifically about viewing space, accessible toilets, a Changing Places facility, BSL interpretation and a quiet place to rest. A detailed 2026 event access plan was not found, so none of those provisions is promised here.
Describe what would make the visit workable: a seated view, space beside a companion, a shorter route or a place to leave the crowd. Discuss the procession and the stage separately. Get directions to the relevant toilet before committing to an all-day visit.
The 2027 date has not been announced yet. The 2026 event was on 11 July. We will update this guide when the organiser confirms the next date.
