off to pride

Make a weekend of it

Stay near the central venues.

Castle Quarter and central hotels, budget alternatives and overflow stays in Bicester and Banbury.

2026 event — 2027 date to be confirmed

Choose your Oxford base

The 2026 event used several central venues, so the Castle Quarter and Paradise Street are useful starting points for comparison. Cornmarket and Broad Street suit the historical procession corridor. North-Oxford options can offer another price choice but add transport. Keep bookings flexible until the organiser announces the next date and format.

This is a location shortlist, not a guarantee about your selected room or event-date availability. Compare the same guest count, nights and cancellation terms. Ask the hotel directly about entrance access, lifts and the bathroom you require. A general facility label may not describe every room.

Overflow areas

Bicester and Banbury give you two rail-connected alternatives. These estimates describe typical daytime journeys and are not next year’s Pride service. Add station walks and the journey through Oxford to your chosen activity. Check any engineering work and the final return before paying for a fixed booking.

Bicester Village: trains from about 14 minutes to Oxford. Use Bicester Village station rather than Bicester North when planning this direct connection. Allow more time for waiting and the final walk. Check which station your hotel actually suits, particularly if arriving with luggage.

Banbury: about 20 minutes on a direct service to Oxford. Confirm the chosen train and return, because calling patterns and weekend changes affect the plan. Choose accommodation around the station journey as well as the headline room price.

Use Chiltern’s Bicester Village information and CrossCountry’s Banbury route. Save a comfortable earlier departure. A short rail journey still needs a workable late connection if you want to remain for evening activity.

Before you book

Use the organiser’s confirmed date before making a non-refundable reservation. Read the cancellation deadline and the number of nights carefully. Ask about check-in, luggage storage and reaching reception during event restrictions. Keep written confirmation of any agreed access arrangement.

Think about noise as well as distance. A central room can help with walking while bringing street or venue sound into the evening. Ask about the particular room position if sleep is a priority. Keep enough phone charge and money for the return plan you have chosen.
