off to pride

Make a weekend of it

Stay close to Southsea.

Six hotels near Castle Field, three budget alternatives and overflow stays in Fareham and Chichester.

2026 event cancelled — 2027 date announced: 12 June 2027

Choose your Portsmouth base

The announced 2027 site is Castle Field in Southsea. Seafront and nearby residential streets suit a visit focused on the festival. City-centre and harbour hotels can help with trains and other sightseeing, but add an onward journey. Choose around the new site rather than the October 2026 Guildhall venue or the previous Southsea Common entrance.

This is a location shortlist, rather than a guarantee about the room or price. Check the exact property name, room type, guest count and cancellation conditions. Ask the hotel directly about step-free access, lift dimensions or a particular bathroom requirement. A general accessibility label may not describe the room you select.

Overflow areas

Fareham and Chichester offer rail-connected alternatives when local rooms are expensive or unavailable. The published operator ranges below refer to Portsmouth Harbour. They are daytime station-to-station estimates, not a June 2027 timetable. Add the onward journey to Castle Field and the distance from your hotel to its station.

Fareham: about 21–29 minutes to Portsmouth Harbour. Check which Portsmouth stop best suits your onward route to Southsea. Confirm the final useful return before choosing evening entertainment. A room near Fareham station can be easier than one requiring another bus.

Chichester: about 30–35 minutes to Portsmouth Harbour. It can suit a longer weekend combining more than one destination. Check the exact service and any weekend engineering before paying for a fixed booking. Include waiting time and the final journey to your room.

Use Southern’s journey information and the current timetable for your date. Save an earlier return and agree the plan with your group. Compare the full cost, including onward transport, rather than only the advertised room rate.

Before you book

Use the announced 2027 date when selecting the stay. Check the nights carefully if travelling the day before or leaving the day after. Ask about luggage storage, check-in and how to reach reception during event restrictions. Keep written confirmation of any agreed access arrangement.

Consider noise as well as distance. A central room can simplify the walk while bringing street or venue sound into the evening. Ask about the particular room position if sleep matters more than being beside activities. Keep enough money and phone charge for your planned return.
