A free Spa celebration and historical town-centre parade, with seaside travel, hotel and access planning.
2026 event — 2027 date announced: 11 September 2027
Scarborough Pride combines a town-centre parade with a free community celebration at Scarborough Spa, beside South Bay. Local volunteers run the charity, which supports LGBTQ+ people and their allies across Scarborough and the surrounding area. Its wider work includes bringing people together and connecting them with health and wellbeing organisations.
The 2026 event took place on Saturday 12 September. The organiser’s 2026 feedback form asked visitors to rate the parade, venue, marketplace and entertainment, and suggest improvements for 2027. The main day was distinct from the organiser’s other community activities. Pride’s roots are in protest, visibility and the struggle for equal rights.
This is a practical seaside visit: decide whether you want the parade, the Spa programme or both. Those destinations need separate arrival plans, particularly if slopes or crowded streets make walking difficult.
The Spa’s 2026 event page dated the celebration Saturday 12 September 2026. It listed the Grand Hall and Sun Court, with the main event running from noon until 6pm. Scarborough Spa’s address is South Bay, Scarborough, YO11 2HD.
The organiser’s homepage now announces Saturday 11 September 2027. Its countdown sits below that announcement. The date is confirmed; the historical route, performances and venue hours below should not be treated as a published 2027 programme.
Choose accommodation for the announced date, but compare cancellation terms before paying. Keep checking the organiser for next year’s individual activity details rather than relying on older event listings.
The organiser’s parade page and the Spa’s listing both put the start outside the Brunswick Centre on Saturday 12 September. The organiser gave 11am and the Spa 11.30am, so the exact time differed between sources. The organiser’s page named Newborough and Westborough on the way to Foreshore Road and the Spa.
This is the Coast’s 11 September preview, quoting the Pride co-chair, described the procession through Westborough and Eastborough. It continued along Foreshore Road and finished at the Spa. Its description provides the historical route, rather than a new-year street plan.
Westborough suits watching the town-centre section; Foreshore Road suits the seafront approach to the finish. These are our suggestions from the reported route, not reserved viewing areas. Leave doorways, crossings and dropped kerbs clear.
Groups used the registration form linked from the organiser’s parade page. That form said their meeting position would be sent to the group lead. It published no entry fee or application deadline. Use that registration link for future group enquiries because group positions were sent to each group lead.
In 2026, Spa entry was free, with a suggested donation of £1 per person, according to the venue. That was a donation suggestion, rather than a compulsory admission price. Allow a separate budget for food, drinks and purchases.
The local radio preview described performances in the main hall and Sun Court, with Donna Marie’s Lady Gaga tribute headlining. It also reported a marketplace bringing together local traders, charities and advice organisations. Treat that line-up as historical: no 2027 performers are promised here.
The organiser’s homepage identified family and wellbeing areas among its 2026 arrangements. Those labels do not establish detailed facilities or supervision rules. If you are visiting with children, check the next programme and any separate evening activity’s age conditions. Agree a meeting point and take breaks between performances instead of trying to follow every act.
Scarborough station is on Westborough, making it a useful arrival point for the historical town-centre parade. The Spa is a separate South Bay destination. Plan the actual pavement route to your entrance, and allow for the return journey uphill rather than assuming the station is beside the venue.
The Spa’s travel page described 2026 park-and-ride buses every 20 minutes, calling at South Bay and York Place. It named sites on Seamer Road and Filey Road. Aquarium Top, near Spa Bridge, was the closest stop to the venue.
The same page warned that park-and-ride gates locked 15 minutes after the last bus. Check the current council timetable before leaving your car there, especially if staying for an evening meal. Forecourt and approach-road parking were council-managed alternatives; check current charges and restrictions.
We found no confirmed event-specific road-closure plan or additional late services. Check your last train and any connection before setting out. Keep enough time to leave the venue, reach the station and board without rushing.
South Bay and the South Cliff area suit the Spa finish; a town-centre base suits the parade and railway arrival. Compare the route between the hotel and venue, including slopes. These choices indicate location, not guaranteed room availability or accessible accommodation. Current names and addresses were checked with Bike & Boot, Crown Spa and Britannia.

The Spa’s access page describes ramps and lifts across the building. Main-foyer ramps are near the Sun Court and shops north of the building. Accessible toilets are on the ground floor towards the rear of the foyer. The venue also lists an induction loop and limited wheelchair spaces in performance areas.
Ask the Spa box office about the next Pride’s seating arrangements. Its general guidance asks visitors to discuss their requirements when booking; do not assume a free event guarantees a particular viewing position. Contact the organiser through its contact page or info@scarboroughpride.co.uk about parade access and support.
National Rail confirms step-free access to all Scarborough platforms, with platforms level with the main entrance. That does not describe the entire outdoor journey to South Bay. Event-specific BSL provision, a quiet space and Changing Places arrangements were not confirmed in the opened sources; ask before travelling if these are essential.
The organiser has announced 11 September 2027. The 2026 event was on 12 September. Check the official site for the programme before booking non-refundable travel.
Yes. The Spa listed free entry and a suggested £1 donation. Food, drinks and purchases were separate spending.
