A September march and a weekend of music, art and community events across Shrewsbury.
2026 event — 2027 date to be confirmed
Shrewsbury Pride brings LGBTQ+ celebration into the town centre, with a Saturday march and a weekend of events in local venues. The 2026 programme used several local venues. That gives visitors room to choose a few activities instead of planning around one enclosure.
Pride grew from protest against discrimination, and its public visibility remains part of the day. Enjoy the entertainment, but make room for the organisations and conversations behind it. You can make a useful day around meeting people as well as watching a performance.
Choose a few stops before arriving. A live music afternoon, an art market and a poetry session make different days, even within the same town.
The main 2026 parade day was scheduled for Saturday 26 September. My Shrewsbury reported a wider programme from 25 to 27 September. Different venues had their own schedules.
Shrewsbury Pride’s public organiser channels are its Facebook and Instagram accounts. No officially announced 2027 date was found. Treat the next date as TBC and wait for the organiser’s announcement before committing to non-refundable travel.
Keep a venue list on your phone. An event described as Shrewsbury Pride could mean the march, a concert or a smaller workshop, with different admission arrangements.
For 2026, My Shrewsbury reported assembly in the town square from 11.45am and departure at noon on Saturday 26 September. Arrive before assembly if you want to meet friends and find your place without rushing.
The full street-by-street route, finish point and group registration terms could not be confirmed from the accessible organiser material. Ask the organiser about joining as a group rather than assuming a fee, deadline or place at the front.
The square was a practical place to see the start. Keep dropped kerbs, shop entrances and stewarded crossings clear. If you would rather watch than march, choose a position before the procession gathers and give participants room to pass.
The 2026 programme mixed free activities with venue events that needed individual checks. LOOP’s Pride Punk on Castle Foregate explicitly offered free entry, with doors at noon. Its venue page allowed all ages with an adult while bands played; under-18s had to be accompanied.
Albert’s Shed hosted Pride Saturday with drag, spoken word and live music. Its own listing gave a 4pm start, while My Shrewsbury reported the main stage from 3pm. Those sources disagree; neither time should become a promise for another year. The venue categorised the event as ticketed but did not show a price on the page.
The 2026 local programme also listed a quieter afternoon stage at In Good Hands. If you want a less crowded visit, compare smaller sessions with amplified music events. Save the pages for your chosen activities and decide whether to book ahead or arrive early. Different door policies can affect how easily you move between venues.
Check the specific venue’s age rules and booking page before taking children to evening entertainment. Save space for food and a break between events instead of trying to attend every listing.
Shrewsbury station is on Castle Foregate. That makes LOOP, at 13A Castle Foregate, a convenient first or final stop for rail visitors. For the square and other venues, use a walking map and allow extra time around the parade.
National Rail’s station page links to journey planning and live departures. Check the complete outward and return journey, including any connection and engineering work. A late performance can outlast the last useful train; decide your departure point before entering an evening event.
Use the local bus operator’s planner for your starting address and date. Check the return service separately, and recheck stops if the organiser announces diversions. No confirmed 2026 Pride parking or road-closure schedule was located, so use current council information before driving.
When choosing parking, compare the closing time with your evening plans. Arrange a meeting place outside the busiest crowd if friends are leaving by different routes.
A town-centre room keeps the square and indoor programme together. These two central hotels and one simpler budget candidate let you compare location and room type; budget does not guarantee the lowest rate. Check stairs, cancellation terms and the actual property returned by Booking.com.

National Rail lists Shrewsbury station as step-free to all platforms, with lifts. Arrange Passenger Assist if needed and check lift availability before travelling.
Albert’s Shed Shrewsbury publishes detailed access information. Wheelchairs use a ground-floor entrance through the fire escape beside the main door; ask door security to open it. The venue has an accessible toilet downstairs, while the upstairs Loft is not wheelchair accessible. Use its accessibility enquiry form to discuss seating or early entry.
A quieter performance at In Good Hands was listed for 2026, but that is not the same as a dedicated sensory room. Event-wide BSL, accessible viewing and Changing Places provision remain TBC. Contact the organiser through its social channels about the march and each venue about indoor access.
The 2027 date has not been announced yet. The 2026 event was on 26 September. We will update this guide when the organiser confirms the next date.
LOOP’s Pride Punk specifically advertised free entry. Albert’s Shed marked its event ticketed, without publishing a price on the page checked.
LOOP allowed under-18s with an adult while bands played. Check other venues separately, especially for late-night events.
The 2026 meeting point was the town square, with assembly from 11.45am and departure at noon.
