About Blackpool Pride Festival

Blackpool Pride Festival celebrated its twentieth anniversary from 5–7 June 2026. The main arena was on Tower Festival Headland, directly in front of Blackpool Tower. The organiser’s current website still describes that edition; a 2027 date has not been announced there.

The 2026 theme was One Love, One Pride. Music and a seafront procession sat alongside family activities and community organisations. Pride also carries a public protest for equality, with the parade making LGBTQ+ people and their supporters visible along the Promenade.

Choose the part of the weekend that suits you. A morning watching the parade is a different visit from a ticketed evening at the main arena. The free Sunday community day offered another way to join the celebration in 2026. Keep the next edition’s bookings flexible until the official date appears.

The seafront gives you recognisable landmarks, but distances still matter. South Pier and the Tower are different destinations. Decide where your day begins before choosing a train station, hotel or meeting point. A room close to one activity may leave a longer journey to another.

Blackpool Pride parade route and start time

In 2026, the parade took place on Saturday 6 June at 11am, as confirmed in the council’s dated announcement. The organiser described the corridor from near Sandcastle Waterpark and South Pier along the Promenade towards North Pier. Its parade page retained provisional wording about the final route.

Participants were told to be ready to arrive by 10am, with an allocated time and registration point supplied separately. Treat that as a historical assembly instruction. Watching at 11am and checking in as a participant were not the same appointment.

The 2026 registration form listed £300 for corporate organisations with over 250 employees and £100 for those with fewer than 250. It requested a voluntary £50 charity or community donation, with the selection saying it would be invoiced unless otherwise agreed. Exactly 250 employees was not defined.

Groups applied through the organiser’s parade form, which asked for approximate numbers; vehicle documents could be sent from one month before the parade. No registration closing date was published, so ask info@blackpoolpride.org about your category and future terms.

Where to watch

Choose a position along the published promenade corridor with space to leave. The South Pier area suits watching the beginning; the Tower area can suit combining viewing with the arena. These are geographical suggestions, rather than reserved viewing locations. Follow stewards and keep entrances and crossings clear.

Use designated tram crossings and keep your group away from platform edges. A road closure does not establish that tram tracks are safe to occupy. If you need a seated or supported parade view, arrange it with the organiser before travelling.

Blackpool Pride tickets, prices and what’s on

The 2026 programme began with a Friday 90s versus 00s dance night. Saturday’s main Pride party featured Heather Small, 911 and The Cheeky Girls. Sunday was advertised as a free community Fun Day. Those performers and arrangements belong to 2026, rather than the next programme.

The organiser’s FAQ listed Friday gates at 5pm and a 10pm finish. It also listed a parade at 11am, arena gates at noon and a 7pm finish. Its repeated Saturday date labels were inconsistent, so check a corrected daily schedule before using other listed times.

Think about the arena and the public promenade separately. Watching a passing parade does not give you admission to a paid concert. Likewise, a festival wristband does not establish entry to every nearby bar, attraction or independently organised event.

Ticket prices and booking

The retained organiser FAQ advertised VIP tickets from £45, including a separate entrance lane, golden-circle view, bar and toilets. A complete 2026 general-admission price list could not be recovered from the official checkout. Use the organiser’s current ticket link for future prices and booking charges.

The 2026 low-income ballot offered half-price general admission, up to two tickets per application, for qualifying local FY or PR residents. Its deadline was 30 April 2026. That expired scheme is useful background, not an application invitation for the next festival.

Families and a shorter day

The organiser advertised dedicated Family and Youth Pride areas in 2026. Its FAQ described a dry family area, checked volunteers and safeguarding leads. A shorter visit can combine parade viewing with one activity, without needing to spend the whole day beside a loud stage.

The published ticket terms said under-17s entered free on Saturday and Sunday but still needed tickets. Children attending Friday needed a £5 ticket. Under-14s required an accompanying adult over 18. These were retained historical terms; use the next booking page to confirm ages and admission rules.

Tell children which staff members can help and agree a meeting point that remains easy to describe. Keep a responsible adult with them, especially when crossing the tramway. Give everyone time for a toilet stop and food before settling into a busy viewpoint.

A family area is not necessarily a quiet space. Bring ear protection if useful and plan somewhere to pause away from the stage. Choose a manageable return journey as carefully as the entertainment. Leaving before everyone is tired can make the day more enjoyable.

Blackpool Pride travel and road closures

Blackpool North serves the central and northern part of the town. Northern describes a roughly ten-minute walk via Abingdon Street into the centre. The Tower Festival Headland is on the seafront, so save the actual arena entrance when the next site map appears.

Blackpool South is on Waterloo Road, useful for considering the southern end of the historical parade corridor. It is a separate station on a different service pattern. Check which station your booked train serves before choosing the final walk or arranging a meeting.

Blackpool Transport runs buses and the tramway, with North Station connected to the tram network. Its journey planner combines public transport and walking. Check the direction and destination display before boarding; travelling towards the parade start can mean heading away from the central arena.

The council’s 2026 notice closed the Promenade between Burlington Road West and Springfield Road from 9.30am to noon on 6 June. Diversions were signposted. Those historical restrictions do not establish the next event’s closures, bus diversions or tram operation.

If driving, choose an authorised car park and check its own hours, height limits and charges. Ask your hotel about unloading during event restrictions. A seafront address does not guarantee you can drive to its door during a parade. Leave time for the last part on foot.

No Pride-specific extra trains or 2027 transport plan were confirmed in the pages checked. Use your operator’s actual-date timetable and engineering notices. A frequent weekday service or an old event timetable is not a reliable promise for your return.

Getting home from the seafront

Check the last useful train all the way to your destination, including connections beyond Preston. Save an earlier departure as a fallback. Work backwards from that train to allow for leaving the arena, collecting bags and reaching the platform.

The Friday evening programme and the Saturday daytime party had different finishing times in the 2026 information. Decide which activity you want before buying a return ticket. Do not assume a concert finish leaves enough time for the final connection home.

If using a tram, choose the correct destination and confirm that the service reaches your stop. The end of a public event can bring queues, so allow room for a later boarding. Keep tram tracks clear while waiting and follow any temporary stop instructions.

A hotel in Preston or Manchester can provide more room choices, but it adds a rail journey after the celebration. If you intend to stay at an evening venue, compare that return with a central room. Price a workable backup before relying on a taxi over a long distance.

Keep ticket screenshots, accommodation details and the group’s contact numbers available offline. Agree whether everyone will leave together. A recognisable meeting point away from a packed arena exit is easier than trying to regroup beside the busiest stop.

Where to stay

A central Blackpool base helps with the Tower arena and the station journey. South Shore suits the historical parade’s starting area, while North Promenade hotels put you beyond the northern end. Compare the whole day’s walking rather than choosing only by a seafront photograph. Our Blackpool hotel guide includes six nearby choices, three budget comparisons and rail-connected overflow bases.

Food and the Rainbow Quarter

The organiser’s 2026 FAQ listed food vendors and several bars inside the festival. Ask traders about ingredients and preparation before choosing a meal. Keep money for refreshments separate from your entry budget and establish the current rules before carrying food into the arena.

Blackpool Council also announced a Rainbow Quarter street party for 6–7 June 2026. It described afternoon music on Lord Street and local performers through both evenings. That was a separate community programme alongside the Tower Festival Headland celebration.

For a future evening, use individual venues’ listings for tickets, age restrictions and opening times. A Pride date does not guarantee a particular show or door policy. Book dinner if having a predictable place to sit is important to your group.

The Ruskin’s own website lists Rubens Restaurant, Roly’s Bar and hotel entertainment as ordinary options in the centre. Check bookings and access directly before choosing them. An early meal and a return to your room can be a useful quieter finish after a busy procession.

Pack for June on the coast

Prepare for sun, showers and a cooler sea breeze. Check the forecast near your visit and bring a layer for the return. Comfortable shoes help with promenade walking, especially if you want both the southern assembly area and the central arena.

Carry essential medication, sunscreen, water and a charged phone. A compact power bank helps keep travel details available. Keep a flag or placard manageable in wind, and avoid blocking another visitor’s view or the space needed at a crossing.

Check the organiser’s current bag and entry rules before packing for the ticketed arena. Store important contacts somewhere you can access without a signal. Our what to wear and pack guide covers the essentials for a full day and an evening return.

Plan access across the whole visit

The historical FAQ described a stage-front accessible area, a separate entrance lane, BSL interpreters and accessible toilets. It explicitly said there was no raised platform. The accessible area was within the golden circle, which makes agreeing the correct ticket important.

Read our Blackpool accessibility guide before booking. It separates retained event information from permanent station and toilet facilities. Discuss the activity you want to attend, your companion and the journey from your chosen station.

Practical questions

When is Blackpool Pride 2027?

The 2027 date has not been announced yet. The 2026 event was on 5–7 June. We will update this guide when the organiser confirms the next date.

Was the whole festival free in 2026?

The Sunday community Fun Day was advertised as free. Friday and Saturday arena admission used tickets, with a separate VIP option. Parade viewing on the public route is a different activity from entering the concert arena. Check future booking instructions before travelling.

What did a registered group pay?

The 2026 form listed £100 for commercial organisations below 250 employees and £300 above 250. It requested a £50 voluntary community or charity donation, invoiced unless otherwise agreed. Confirm your category, the new fees and the deadline with the parade team.

Which station should I choose?

Blackpool North suits the central town and Tower side of the visit. Blackpool South is useful for considering the historical southern parade area. Check your actual train, final walk and return destination together. The two stations are not interchangeable stops on every service.

Can I bring children to the arena?

The retained terms allowed free under-17 entry on Saturday and Sunday with a ticket, and charged children £5 on Friday. Under-14s needed an adult over 18. Check the next edition’s age rules, ticket categories and family programme before booking.

How do I arrange a companion place?

The organiser’s disability page describes access for the ticket holder and one carer in the viewing area. Email info@blackpoolpride.org before purchase to confirm the current booking route, evidence and price. The retained page names a different seller from the homepage.

Can I visit without joining the parade?

Yes: choose a public viewpoint or a festival activity that fits your day. Watching is different from registering a group to march. Plan somewhere to meet afterwards, with time for the journey from your viewpoint to the next activity.
