2026 event — 2027 date to be confirmed
Viewing, BSL and step-free routes
The retained 2026 organiser FAQ described an accessible area at the front of the main stage, within the VIP golden circle. It said there was no raised platform, with large screens beside the stage. A separate accessible entrance lane and two BSL interpreters were listed.
Ask how the next viewing area will work before choosing a ticket. Explain whether you need a seated view, room for mobility equipment or proximity to interpreting. Confirm the route from the entrance and your companion’s place. Stage facilities do not establish a reserved parade viewpoint.
The organiser’s historical FAQ placed wristband collection at the Tower Festival Headland entrance. For a future edition, ask whether your access confirmation changes the collection route. Keep the approval and ticket available, so staff can direct you to the appropriate lane without a second queue.
Choose your main activity before asking about the view. Watching a parade and seeing a stage performance involve different positions and surfaces. Tell the team if a standing sightline is unsuitable, and ask how seating and mobility equipment fit into the allocated area.
Carer and personal-assistant tickets
The organiser’s disability page describes an orange wristband giving the ticket holder and one carer access to the viewing area. It requests evidence within three weeks of purchase, such as disability-benefit documentation, proof of an application or the reverse of a Blue Badge.
That retained page names Ticketmaster, while the current homepage links to Ticket Tailor. Email info@blackpoolpride.org before buying to confirm the seller, companion charge, application method and deadline. Do not assume an ordinary VIP ticket is the required access ticket. Keep the organiser’s reply with your booking details.
The retained disability-ticket page asks applicants to email the organiser when buying and to provide the requested evidence. It says staff will ask for the email address at arena entry. Save the approval where you can reach it, along with the details of the actual seller confirmed by the team.
Check that the companion arrangement applies to the activity and ticket you have chosen. Ask before paying if you need a different number of support people or a particular space. The published one-carer description should not become an assumed policy for every future booking.
Accessible toilets and Changing Places
The organiser’s 2026 FAQ listed accessible toilets. It did not identify a Changing Places unit inside the arena. A standard accessible toilet does not provide the same equipment as a hoist-and-changing facility. Establish your essential toilet provision before deciding how long to stay.
Blackpool Council’s public-toilet directory lists a Changing Places facility at Holiday Inn, Talbot Gateway, FY1 1LL. Its published summer hours are 8am–8pm. This is a separate permanent facility, rather than an arena service. Confirm opening, keys, equipment and the journey there directly before relying on it.
The council says its public accessible toilets operate with an NKS or RADAR key. Carry yours if you use one and plan any additional journey in advance. Ask the event team about leaving and re-entering the arena, because a nearby facility is only useful if you can reach it.
Quiet breaks, family space and welfare
The historical FAQ described a dry family area and a medical team with an ambulance on site. It did not publish a dedicated quiet or sensory room. Do not treat the family area as a silent retreat. Ask about the next site’s quieter spaces, welfare point and seating.
Choose a manageable activity plan with breaks away from the loudest stage area. Keep medication and a communication method accessible. Identify staff on arrival and agree how your companion can help if you need to leave. Ear protection may make some activities more comfortable, but shortening the visit is also reasonable.
Stations and local transport
Northern lists Blackpool North as a step-free Category A station, with ramps to the entrance, level access to all platforms and accessible toilets. Blackpool South also has ramp access, but is unstaffed and has no accessible toilet. Arrange train assistance for the actual services and stations you intend to use.
Blackpool Transport describes level boarding and wheelchair spaces on its modern trams. Confirm mobility-scooter rules and the service you need directly. Include the final route from the stop, designated tram crossings and any temporary diversions. An accessible vehicle does not guarantee a clear route through event crowds.
National Rail’s Blackpool North page confirms Category A step-free access, available staff assistance and an induction loop. Northern’s station information provides its ramp and accessible-toilet details. Choose assistance around the service you will actually use, rather than the ticket office’s opening alone.
Blackpool Council’s Blue Badge guidance offers a three-hour free concession at some council car parks. It requires the badge and arrival clock to be displayed. Beyond that period, display the required paid ticket. Check the individual tariff board, because the concession does not apply to every car park.
A seafront parking address is not a reserved Pride arrival space. Compare the bay with the entrance you need and check published closures. Ask about a suitable drop-off if getting from the car park is the difficult part of your journey.
Keep the return journey with your viewing and toilet plan. Decide where to rejoin your companion after leaving the arena, and allow time to reach the agreed stop. If you need to change the plan, contact the relevant operator or event team before relying on an alternative.
