off to pride

Make a weekend of it

Stay near the city march.

Six central places to stay, three value alternatives and rail-connected overflow areas for a Coventry visit.

2026 event — 2027 date to be confirmed

Choose a base for the march and FarGo

Coventry’s historical Pride weekend had a city-centre march and a programme at FarGo Village. Choose your room around the journeys you will make most often. Broadgate and the cathedral area suit the historical march meeting and finish. The station side helps with luggage and trains, while FarGo lies farther east on Far Gosford Street.

The organiser says 2027 dates are to be confirmed. Compare flexible rates if you want to plan ahead, and check the cancellation deadline before paying. This shortlist concerns location and travel choices; it does not promise availability, a particular price or accessible rooms. Ask the property directly about any entrance, bathroom or lift requirement essential to your stay.

These choices occupy different sides of central Coventry. Corporation Street and Fairfax Street help with the northern centre, while Mile Lane and Friargate suit station arrivals. The Butts is west of the main shopping area. Compare your actual walking route to FarGo as well as the historical march; a central postcode does not put every activity at the same distance.

Old County Court is included as a small guesthouse alternative, rather than presented as a conventional hotel with a full range of services. Read the particular room description before booking. If you want staffed late check-in, luggage storage or breakfast, confirm those arrangements directly. A room’s central location cannot tell you whether its staircase or bathroom suits your visit.

Three budget options

These outer-city choices offer economy-brand or value comparisons, rather than guaranteed low Pride rates. Include bus fares, taxis and parking when comparing the final cost. An inexpensive room can become poor value if you need several paid journeys. Check the final service back before choosing a base that depends on public transport.

Whitley Business Park

ibis Coventry South

An economy alternative outside the centre; include the cost and timing of transport to FarGo before comparing rates.

Corley services, M6

Days Inn Corley

A motorway-services option for drivers, requiring planned transport into Coventry rather than a walk to Pride.

Allesley, Birmingham Road

Quality Hotel Coventry

An outer-city value comparison for travellers with a workable bus or taxi plan to the centre.

Corley is a motorway-services stay, so plan the car journey and city parking together. It is not a practical walking base for the festival. For Whitley and Allesley, compare the actual bus route from the hotel with a taxi quote. Check Sunday service separately and keep a backup for getting back after the activity you want to attend.

Overflow areas

The council’s published rail guide gives typical station-to-station journey times for Birmingham, Rugby and Leamington Spa. These are useful comparisons, not a confirmed Pride timetable or the times of the last services. Add the journey from your hotel to its own station and the onward walk from Coventry station. Check your actual date before booking.

Birmingham: typically 25–30 minutes from New Street. A larger accommodation choice can help when Coventry rooms do not suit your budget. Choose a room with a clear route to Birmingham New Street and check which station your train uses. Add return fares before comparing the total cost with a central Coventry stay.

Rugby: typically about ten minutes. The rail journey is short, but the hotel’s distance from Rugby station can matter more than the train time. Check the evening departure you need and allow time to reach Coventry station from FarGo. A town-centre room and a station-side room can create different journeys at the other end.

Leamington Spa: typically about ten minutes. This is another rail-connected alternative in the council’s guide. Check the frequency and Sunday timetable as well as the shortest travel time. If the last suitable service leaves before your chosen evening activity ends, choose an earlier return or a Coventry base instead of relying on an unplanned taxi.

Before you book

Compare the same dates, guest count and room type across properties. Check the deposit, cancellation deadline and any minimum stay. Ask about luggage storage if you want to go straight to an activity before check-in. Confirm the late-entry arrangement if you plan an evening out, particularly for a small guesthouse with limited reception hours.

Ask about the specific accessible room and keep any agreed arrangements in writing. Check the route from the property to the event rather than relying on a straight-line distance. If you drive, confirm parking charges and whether a space is reserved. Save the address offline and give each traveller their own copy of the journey home.
