2026 event — 2027 date to be confirmed
Choose your Newcastle base
Newcastle Pride is compact. The 2026 march ran from the Civic Centre to Grey’s Monument, and the ticketed arena was at Times Square beside Newcastle Central. Most city-centre hotels are within walking distance of both. Pick a base by your main activity: near the station for the arena and the Pink Triangle bars, or near Grey’s Monument for the march, Market Village and Theatre Royal.

Room rates change with dates, availability and cancellation terms. No fixed Pride room price is quoted. Check the exact property, room, guest count and total payable before booking; contact the hotel directly about specific access needs.

These places can widen the accommodation search, but compare the whole trip rather than just the room price. The times below are typical daytime journeys, not a Pride special timetable or a promise of a late service. Add the walk to each station, waiting time and the walk to your Newcastle venue.
- Gateshead → Central Station
- One Metro stop, a few minutes
- Sunderland → Newcastle
- About 18–23 minutes by train
- Durham → Newcastle
- About 12–22 minutes by train
Gateshead sits across the Tyne from Newcastle. Gateshead Metro station is the next stop from Central Station, and Gateshead Quayside hotels are a walk across the river. Check whether your hotel is near the Metro or on the Quayside, because the walking routes differ.
Sunderland is linked to Newcastle by both the Metro and national rail services. It can work well for an overnight stay if you check the last departure back after the arena closes. The Metro journey takes longer than the fastest trains.
Durham is on the East Coast Main Line, with frequent daytime trains to Newcastle Central. Check the walk from Durham station to your room, which can be steep. A short train journey only helps if a service runs when you want to leave.
Use Travel North East for Metro times and National Rail to plan the full return journey.
Before you book
- Confirm the event date before making a non-refundable reservation.
- Check check-in time, luggage storage and cancellation terms.
- Ask about access for the exact room and entrance you will use.
- Ask the hotel how the march-day road closures affect arrival by car or taxi.
- Plan the late journey and save the accommodation address offline.
