off to pride

Make a weekend of it

Stay close to the castle.

Six central hotels, three budget options and nearby rail bases.

2026 event — 2027 date announced: 12–13 June 2027

Choose your Cardiff base

Cardiff’s centre is compact, and the six hotels below are all within walking distance of the 2026 parade route and the festival site at Coopers Field and Cardiff Castle. Some sit right on the route, which is handy for viewing but means road closures on parade morning. This is a location shortlist: walking suitability depends on your mobility, the gate you use and the closures in force.

Overflow areas: Cardiff Bay, Penarth and Newport

If central rooms are scarce, these nearby places can widen the search. The times below are typical daytime station-to-station journeys, not a Pride timetable or a promise of a late train. Add the walk at each end and time to queue.

Cardiff Bay → Queen Street
About 3–5 minutes
Penarth → Cardiff Central
About 11–13 minutes
Newport → Cardiff Central
About 10–15 minutes

Cardiff Bay has a frequent shuttle train to Queen Street, which is close to the end of the parade. It is a pleasant base for waterside meals in the evening. Check the walk from Cardiff Bay station to your hotel, as some Bay properties are a fair distance from it.

Penarth is a seaside town just south of the city, with direct Transport for Wales trains into Cardiff Central. It suits people who want a quieter night after a busy day. Confirm the last train back before you plan a late evening.

Newport has frequent fast trains to Cardiff Central, and is useful for visitors coming from England. Services run often through the day, but trains on event days can be very full. Check the last departure and any engineering works before booking.

Before you book

  • Confirm the 2027 dates, 12–13 June, with the organiser before paying for a non-refundable room.
  • Ask the hotel how to reach it during parade-day road closures.
  • Check check-in times, luggage storage and cancellation terms.
  • Ask about access for the exact room and entrance you will use.
  • Plan the late journey back and save the address offline.
