off to pride

Make a weekend of it

Stay close to the march.

Six central hotels, three budget options and nearby towns on the Merseyrail network.

2026 event — 2027 date announced: 31 July 2027

Choose your Liverpool base

These six hotels are within walking distance of the 2026 march route, the Pride Quarter or the waterfront event at Liverpool Experience Campus. Liverpool’s centre is compact, so most central hotels work for a march-day visit. Choose by what matters most: the start at Clayton Square, the finish on Lord Street, the arena at Kings Dock or Lime Street for the train home. Walking times depend on your mobility and the crowds on the day.

Room rates change with dates, availability and cancellation terms. No fixed Pride room price is quoted. Check the exact property, room, guest count and total payable before booking; contact the hotel directly about specific access needs.

Overflow bases: Birkenhead, Southport and Chester

These places can widen the search if city-centre rooms are scarce or expensive. The times below are typical daytime rail journeys, not a Pride timetable or a promise of a late train. Add the walk to each station and the walk from your Liverpool arrival station to the march or the arena.

Birkenhead Hamilton Square → James Street
About 3 minutes
Southport → Liverpool
About 42–46 minutes
Chester → Liverpool
About 38–46 minutes

Birkenhead is across the Mersey on the Wirral Line. Hamilton Square is one stop from James Street, which is close to Lord Street and the waterfront. It is the quickest overflow option, but check the last train back under the river before a late night.

Southport is a seaside town at the end of Merseyrail’s Northern Line. Direct trains run into Liverpool Central and Moorfields. It suits a longer weekend, but late-night trains are less frequent than daytime services.

Chester is linked to Liverpool by Merseyrail’s Wirral Line, with Transport for Wales services too. It has plenty of hotels and works well if you want a quieter base. Check which Liverpool station your train uses and plan the return journey before the evening.

Use Merseyrail or National Rail to plan the complete return journey, and check Merseytravel for engineering works and tunnel closures that week.

Before you book

  • Confirm the next event date before making a non-refundable reservation.
  • Check check-in time, luggage storage and cancellation terms.
  • Ask about access using the exact room and entrance you will use.
  • Check parking arrangements if you are driving; city-centre spaces are limited.
  • Plan the late journey and save the accommodation address offline.
