London Zoo’s Pride Takeover
London Zoo scheduled its Zoo Nights Pride Takeover for 3 July 2026, as part of its adults-only evening season. London Zoo has not announced a Pride Takeover for 2027.
The zoo’s event page now marks the 2026 season as passed. It listed the takeover within the Friday programme, with LGBTQ+ performers and queer ecology talks. This was a separate evening purchase, so ordinary daytime admission was not the ticket to buy.
Consider this type of event if you like the idea of a Pride outing centred on animals and entertainment. Discuss the balance between talks, exploring and watching performances before choosing your visit. You can make a shared evening without trying to see every part of the zoo.
The 2026 evening and inclusions
The 2026 Zoo Nights hours were 6pm to 10pm, with last entry at 9pm. All visitors had to be at least 18. The zoo advised younger-looking adults to bring proof of age.
The Pride programme named live music, drag-led animal talks and Bi-Curious George’s queer ecology talks. It also advertised games, crafts and a quiz. Some upgrades carried extra charges; food and drinks needed their own budget.
The event FAQ said an evening ticket did not include daytime entry. Ordinary zoo membership did not include Zoo Nights either. Save the event ticket with your travel plans so you can easily distinguish it from any daytime purchase.
For a similar future evening, prioritise animal viewing early if that is your main interest. The zoo explained that habitats closed at different times before the overall event finished. Use the published evening planner to choose your route when a new programme is available.
Ask your companions what they would be disappointed to miss. If your choices differ, agree a reunion point and a time before splitting up. Take care that nobody’s return journey depends on finding another person in the final crowd.
Prices and future booking
The surviving official page no longer gives an exact 2026 entry price. Its register-interest option covers Zoo Nights tickets in general. The date, admission price and performer programme remain to be confirmed.
Compare the entry cost with the full evening you want, including an optional upgrade or meal. Read the terms for changing dates before paying. Decide whether an overnight stay saves a difficult journey home or simply adds expense you would rather avoid.
When tickets return, select the Pride Takeover date itself if that is your reason for going. A general Zoo Nights evening can have a different programme. Check the name of the event in the basket before completing payment.
Reaching the zoo and getting back
London Zoo’s directions give its address as Outer Circle, Regent’s Park, NW1 4RY. Camden Town is its nearest Underground station. Chalk Farm provides an alternative approach, while the 274 bus stops at the zoo.
Use the suggested walking routes to choose an arrival that fits your mobility and energy. Plan the journey after the event separately, including the route to the correct station entrance. Check transport for the actual date once the next evening is announced.
If you have a mainline connection to catch, decide your departure time before entering. Leave space for the walk and any Underground interchange. A hotel is optional; a planned earlier exit can be the better choice for your budget.
Making the evening work for you
The takeover FAQ confirms gender-neutral toilets for that 2026 evening. For other access needs, ask the zoo about the event you intend to book. Explain any requirements for viewing, toilets or assistance rather than relying on a general facility description.
Keep your evening bag simple and bring clothing suitable for spending time outside. Plan a meal that works around the activities you choose. Set a comfortable pace, with permission for anyone in your group to rest or leave early.
For a separate parade visit, our London Pride guide covers the city event. You can also compare Croydon Pride and Herts Pride before choosing another outing.
