Pride in Nature at WWT Slimbridge
Pride in Nature combined wildlife, creative activities and LGBTQ+ celebration at WWT Slimbridge on 6–7 June 2026. WWT’s event page summary says Pride in Nature will return in 2027; no date has been given.
The West of England Combined Authority’s 2026 announcement supplies the weekend dates. WWT’s own retrospective event page thanks visitors and identifies the Queer Ecology Walks as a highlight.
Choose this kind of outing if you would like nature and Pride in the same day. You can build a visit around a favourite activity, leaving time for your own interests between sessions. For a group, start by agreeing whether wildlife, making things or shared performances matter most.
The 2026 programme and what was included
WWT’s programme featured Queer Ecology Walks, Drag Queen Storytime, a silent disco, a rainbow trail and crafts. Storytime drew on The Rainbow Flamingo. The trail used an activity leaflet, while the Art Hub offered paper-wing making.
Activities were included with admission or membership, with advance booking needed for some limited-capacity sessions. That distinction matters: an admission purchase and a place on a particular walk are separate things to check. WWT described the programme as family-friendly, with suggested ages possible for individual activities.
For another visit, choose one session you especially want to attend before adding optional activities. Keep the booking confirmation somewhere easy to find. If friends have different interests, agree where you will regroup rather than expecting everyone to follow the same programme.
Leave room in your bag for something you make, and consider how you will carry it on the journey home. A small waterproof folder can be useful for paper creations. Let children help decide which activity they would most like to try.
Admission and planning for 2027
There was no separate charge for the listed Pride programme beyond the centre’s admission or membership requirement. For current admission choices, use WWT’s ticket service through the centre’s event page.
The next event’s exact programme and ticket prices are still to be confirmed. Wait for a dated announcement before paying for travel tied to Pride in Nature. A flexible room can be worth comparing if you are planning a wider Gloucestershire break.
Make a simple total covering admission, transport, accommodation and food. If you already have membership, check its terms for everyone travelling. Discuss which optional purchases fit your budget before arriving, particularly when children are choosing souvenirs.
Getting to the wetlands
WWT’s directions identify Cam & Dursley as the nearest railway station, 3.4 miles away. The bookable Robin bus serves the centre. The regular 65 stops on the A38, with a further 2.1-mile walk.
WWT warns that part of that walk follows the road without pavement. Choose your onward connection before buying the train ticket. For a return booking, allow time to reach the pickup point and check the final service for your travel date.
Drivers can use the centre’s free car park and follow its directions from the M5. Keep the centre’s postcode, GL2 7BT, with your booking. Agree who is driving home before settling your plans for the evening.
Access and a comfortable visit
The centre’s accessibility page confirms level, hard-surfaced paths, accessible toilets and a Changing Places toilet. Carers assisting disabled visitors enter free. Manual wheelchairs can be borrowed with advance booking.
Ask about the specific activity’s route if you need a step-free walk or a seated option. Bring the equipment you ordinarily use and work out where you would prefer to pause. The venue’s facilities information can help you decide what suits your visit.
